Project Description- Pleasure in Feminine Form
This series of works in Anabelle’s MFA project ‘Release the Vessel’ explored unconventional ceramic installation and ceramic sculpture. The aim for this project was to free herself from the formal codes of ceramic practice of making functional ware and to play with methods of presentation.
In this series she explored form with a sensual and vivacious spirit with delicately formed folds in porcelain with fanciful tinsel and pearl trim to celebrate the uniqueness of the vulva. These evocative forms are openly displayed to the viewer at eye level to encourage a seductive tension with the work.
’Erotic Effervescence’ was shown in the Brunswick Street Gallery ‘Small Works Prize 2024’
